When Purchasing Mustang Programmers or Tuners is important to know the difference
between programmers and chips, tuners and programmers are handheld devices that plug into your OBD II port
and are usually handheld and have an LCD/Button interface. Tuners/programmers completely reprogram your ECU to new operating
parameters, usually along the lines of increasing horsepower and torque to just getting increased fuel economy.
Tuners and programmers usually offer customer tunes options and tweaks as well as being able too adjust for increased
tire diameter and a change in axle ratios these units do come with downside because of all the extra features they are usually more expensive.
On the other end of the spectrum we have Mustang performance chips and modules, these have no LCD interface or buttons, chips usually plug directly
into your vehicle's OBD II outlet and must remain plugged into vehicle in order for the desired tune to stay programmed into the vehicle. While these the Mustang chips are a little bit on the older side
of the technology end of the spectrum they do have their pluses usually they are much more durable than their newer counterparts and are the cheaper side and are easier too use
for people who are not used to dealing with electronic performance parts.
