There are a few things to consider when buying a set
of new wheels or wheel and tire package. When searching for the Mustang wheels
that fit your vehicles theme you may have questions about some of the statistics
regarding many of our factory reproduction replica wheels or others.
Some common figures you will see are offset and backspacing. Its important to
first recognize that there is not a specific offset or backspacing measurement
that is made for any Ford Mustang vehicle. Rather there is a range of these
measurements that work within your factory specifications. First, all wheels we
stock at Cruizin Concepts Wholesale are "Mustang Specific Rims".
Thus you will never receive a corvette wheel or something else for that matter
when purchasing.
Mustang wheel backspacing is a simple measurement that can be manually taken on any
wheel. To get your wheels backspacing measurement lay the wheel face down on the
ground and measure from the mounting pad (aluminum pad that slips over the wheel
studs) straight up to a straight edge that should be lying across the back of
the rim barrel. This measurement is your mustang rims backspacing. This
measurement can vary and will never be the same on alternate rim widths.
Offset is simply the amount of space in millimeters from the center of the
wheel barrel to the mounting pad. Therefore if you were looking at a diagram of
our Cobra R Deep Dish Wheels you would
locate the center of the barrel which for a 10" rim width would be 5 inches
from the edge. From this point to the mounting pad is the offset. For further
questions or custom fitments call our certified wheel and tire consultants to
insure that brakes or any other modifications can be thoroughly looked at before
your wheel purchase.
