What You Need To Know About Steeda Wheels and Tires

We carry a full line of Mustang wheels and tires for the SN195 and SN197 models at wery competitive pricing. All of our wheel and tire packages are inspected for quality, mounted on a touchless mounter, balanced on a laser guided precision balancer, and are cleaned so when you get your wheels and tires, you can just bolt on and go! A FREE wheel install kit is also included in all wheel tire packages.

Our Products are specifically designed to fit Ford Mustangs from wheel offset and backspacing to tire profile and overall height. Finding the right offset, backspacing and tire height is essential to ensure you have a good comfortable ride without rubbing and is surprisingly easy. The offset is the distance in millemeters from the mounting pad to the center of the wheel and to determine the offset using the backspacing you can use the following formula:

BS-(.5 x W)= OS

(BS=Backspacing)(W=Wheel Width)(OS=Offset)
To calculate Backspacing using offset use the following formula:

OS+(.5 x W)= BS

These calculations are important to make sure the wheels fit the car with no issues. Tire height is also important to make sure there are no adjustments necessary after buying aftermarket wheels and tires. The first number in a tire size is the width in millimeters, for example the 245 in 245/40ZR/17 means the tire is 245mm wide. The second number in the tire size is the sidewall aspect ratio, for example the 40 in 245/40ZR/18 means the sidewall is 40% of the tire width which in this case is 245. The next letter is the speed rating, for example the Z in 245/40ZR/18 means this tire is a Z-speed rated tire. The next letter is the internal construction, for example the R in 245/40ZR/18 means this tire has a radial construction. Finally the last number is the rim diameter, for example the 18 in 245/40ZR/18 mean this tire fits an 18 inch wheel. In order to calculate the right tire for your car, you need to first calculate the overall tire diameter. You can calculate the tire diameter by using the following formulas:
First calculate the sidewall height

W x A = H

(W=Width)(A=Aspect Ratio)(H=Sidewall Height)
Next you can calculate the overall tire diameter

(H x 2)+ WD = TD

(H=Sidewall Height)(WD=Wheel Diameter)(TD=Tire Diameter)

With these calculations you will be able to find the perfect fir for your car. If there is still something you want to know don't hesitate to give our expert staff a call, after all YOU are the reason we are here!
